The Candid Pup story

Rescue pups Lucy and Jojo in their backyard.

I’m often covered in pet hair.

If I’m preparing for work and wearing black leggings that day, I’m cautious about where I sit in my home for fear of wearing fur leggings instead.

On rainy days, I can’t keep up with the muddy paw prints the pups leave on the tile floor after finishing their visits to the backyard.

The last stuffed toy I bought for them lasted approximately 90 seconds before the stuffing was everywhere.

And I couldn’t be happier to have these rescued pups in my life.

I watch them romp around and I think about the joy our four-legged companions bring us. We are fortunate to have them.

As a professional photographer, I am always taking photos of my own critters. It was while photographing my friends’ pets that I discovered the incredible joy I find in capturing the personality of each animal. They are each unique; their eyes say so much.

My goal with The Candid Pup is to offer pet photography that captures the spirit of your beloved companion; to freeze in time a moment from their loving, delightful lives.

It would be a privilege to meet and photograph your pet. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

“We used The Candid Pup to get photos for our annual Christmas card. The photos Shannon took turned out to be absolutely fantastic! We not only used them for our Christmas card, but we also blew up a giant portrait for our new house and littered our offices with all the photos we could. The Candid Pup did a great job of capturing all the orneriness and character of our Goldendoodle, Primrose, and we are looking forward to another round of Prim Pictures soon!”  Becky G.

“Shannon was wonderful with Gabby and very patient. She made it so much fun for both of us and the photos turned out beautifully!” Rachael P.
